George Duarte

Senior Managing Director, Business Development

George Duarte is the Senior Managing Director of Business Development at GiantLeap Capital. George was one of the founding Partners at UBS Capital, where he worked directly with Samir Parikh.

Prior to joining GiantLeap Capital, George was at Octagon where he served as a Managing Director of Business Development and Client Portfolio Manager from 2009 to 2022. Together with Octagon’s senior officers, his responsibilities included developing new products, capital formation and development, and managing investor relationships.

Prior to joining Octagon, George was a founding partner of UBS Capital Americas, LLC, a middle market private equity firm managing in excess of $2 billion from its offices in New York, Buenos Aires, and São Paolo. Prior to UBS Capital, George worked in the Acquisition Finance Departments at Citibank, N.A. and Manufacturers Hanover Trust.

He received BS degrees in Finance and International Management from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. George holds FINRA Series 7 & 63 Registrations.
